The Fundamentals of Longevity with Samuel Whiting at Kripalu
Three days of breathwork, cold-water immersion and the science of wellbeing in the Berkshires. I have been a Kripalu Luminary presenter since 2022, and this is the program I most love to teach.

At a glance. April 23 to 25, 2027 at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, 57 Interlaken Road, Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Tuition $350 per person plus required accommodations, booked directly through Kripalu. All levels welcome.
What we will practice
This is an immersive weekend in the art and science of stimulus: how small, deliberate challenges like controlled breathing and cold exposure can train your system to adapt. We work through the lens of hormesis, the idea that the right dose of stress, followed by recovery, can make you more resilient.
- Breathwork. Daily guided sessions, then the technique and theory behind them. Start with my breathwork guide if you want a head start.
- Cold-water immersion. Daily optional group immersions in Kripalu's landscape, with the breath to meet the cold calmly. My cold and heat guide explains the science.
- The science of stimulus. How hormetic stress works, and how to dose it for your life.
- Integration. A personal toolkit for weaving breath, cold and lifestyle practice into ordinary days, with individual feedback.
- Connection. Group discussion, time outdoors and a Saturday campfire.

Why I teach this program
I was trained and certified as a Wim Hof Method instructor in 2017, and I have spent the years since guiding breath and cold for teams, conferences and retreats. Kripalu is where it all comes together: a calm campus, real winter-to-spring water, and three days to practice rather than just learn about it. If you want a feel for how I teach, watch a session in my library.
Please practice safely. This is education, not medical advice. Never practice breath holds or breathing exercises in or near water, while driving, or anywhere fainting could hurt you. Cold water carries real risk: never plunge alone, and speak with your doctor first if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy, Raynaud's or any other medical condition.
